In standing mediation today I am realizing how little my attention is on my torso, specifically my abdominal area. I mean I have a couple things, but I have not been doing that as much lately. I closed horizontally after I checked in with closing on the frontal plane (because that helped in the past to get my alignment back on) and it helped, a lot actually. Then the though came up for me is should I even be doing either of those movements. I mean they helped me but that is part of a different training model. I started thinking about the new reference I am trying to get to and what is required to make it to this new place successfully. Basically I can’t do the old stuff. I think it takes a full commitment to the new tasks at hand to see what it gets you. Sifu I think would likely say at this point is to not worry about this or that and stick to the training (the instruction given), I think the other things may come into play at some point, but only after a firm, clear reference has been established.

It is interesting to see how much training I mean movement training within standing. I feel looser after doing so like I did a bunch of movement. Maybe it is about letting go of the muscle and getting to something else.
