Sun./Mon. Mar. 27-28: Class: class was awesome. working the intent and "letting go of the brakes" to allow movement opened a new door, found a new level of relaxation. Need to stay a little more vertical when expanding to absorb, but overall felt very good about the exercise (come to think of it, need to stay a little more vertical overall to release some of the leg tension that arises on squatting movements). Feel that my alignment is coming along, had charlie push on me a little while in ready stance and was able to find 13 points easier, felt as though i had no choice but to align properly in order to take the force while maintaining relaxation and comfort. Trying to incorporate this idea into all the exercises (as if someone was pushing me) to keep the 13 points during movements, but wondering if this would fall under the "thinking" category. Did standard routine of iron buddha rocking - bitter pill - and circling hands today focusing on absorb and project/ expand and condense following intention, had a little trouble finding the bones at first but slowed down and made smaller movements. Have been incorporating Sifu's suggestion of "backing off" when tension arises, it's helping me to settle and not get stuck. Sunday's class really brought the first two together, have a better feel for the prior material after the intention/absorb-project/expand condense lesson. note: stay loose first, then allow the relaxation to come about. do the lessons, don't figure them out, allow. really excited about this art and this program.
