Thur. Dec. 15: It was another good practice today. Focused a lot of allowing the crown to be supported rather than yanking it upward. Went back to the beginnign of stage 1 and the very basics. Its important for me to take the deep breath and let it drop on the exhale, draining down into the floor. Keeping the shoulders directly over the hips and allowing the front to drop down to dantian begins the process. But I have a problem with pre-maturely engaging movements prior to letting the alignment fix itself. Focused on the line going from crown to perineum to balance beam, and that gets something good going with gravity force, but if I don't keep the shoulders completely dropped directly over the hips then I can't release down and drop, bunching up my mingmen. But when I think 'release down' the hip roll drops and the 'stretch' through the yang falls down into the legs and 'pops' them out opening the knees and putting the force on the center of the foot. This frees up the upper body and as long as the shoulders are in place and the yin front is dropping then the yang will fully expand and the crown will begin to support itself and rise a little.
This yang stretch is getting deeper, and I'm getting infatuated with it's feel. I may not have reached the point of the 'internal feel' yet, but, i know that when the yang surfaces 'pop out' and expand, and the flow drops down into the legs and bottom of the feet with the psoas stretching fully, I know that its time to begin moving and deepen that stretch. Sometimes I miss that stretchiness on the back and legs and feet, but proceed anyway, and I believe this is the source of my less than wonderful sessions.
