I answered the following to one of the questions that Sifu Kelly asked in the beginning of the lesson:
I have always understand excess Yin leading to Yang and excess Yang leading to Yin with the neutral point being a transition from one to the other. I think that it is necessary to learn to feel what Yang is and what Yin is in order to become aware of that neutral point is where one transitions to the other.
It turns out that I was really off of what Sifu Kelly was asking! I enjoyed the lesson. "Swallowing the Bitter Pill" is similar to the Taiji Qigong set I learned from my Sifu, but I'm unsure about the harvesting part: If I do 5-sets, do I stand for say 2 minutes each time I harvest or do you only do it on the first and the last time?
I want to practice it some, but I had a spear seminar this morning. I will most likely do some Wuji standing before I call it a night.
One question that I do have related to what I am already studying: In my Taiji/XingYi classes, we do zhan zhuang from Yiquan. My Sifu told me to take my time with the postures after I went commando and jumped right into holding all 8-postures for 5 minutes each. I got better at pushhands, but hurt my shoulders! I was planning to focus on Wuji for now, but was wondering if it's okay to do Yiquan for 1-2 minutes each posture as well?
