Fri. Feb. 10: Yin and Yang. They are not the same. I have tendencies to 'yang' some of the yins and 'yin' some of the yangs. If I can (and I did the other say it was magical) just yin the yin, and just yang the yang... and then just sit there in between it becomes very much what Sifu labeled as 'profound relaxatin'. It's just there, tensions gone, hangups gone, little bits here and there...gone. It happens in an instant too, just boom, relaxed. I have written several times about wanting to project on the chest and sternum and shoulder kuas and absorb on the mingmen. I realized that the mingemen expands 360, to include downward at the split! I was simply expanding up and around and out... but not down, so my butt was tight and tense and flexed all the time training. Then, I let it go... and there went the shoulder's nests, and the chest melted and the pits opened and everything went to its places. It was that quick, and it was as if the other parts were just waiting for one of the others to get it together and they went all together.
Now, that was a great practice. Hasn't happend since, lol. But here's the thing... Normally this would cause me great frustration, but I remember that one of the biggest parts of the process is the process itself. And maybe what I'm cultivating is the awareness that since that day I haven't gotten it right in this and that areas. And that awareness of what's wrong may be just as important as being able to do what's right. It's all about awareness for our art. So I'm glad to be training.
