Couldn't be more excited about so many new entries and all the recent blogging!! THis is what this place was meant for... it's more helpful than you can possibly know to have your fellow practitioners' thoughts there for you to read and relate to. And as I said already, not just for newer folks but for all of us....there's never 'been there done that' in my experience, there's always something more, something new at every level, even stage1 week 1 brings new stuff each time i do it.
I wanted to mention something that was brought to my attention by one of our senior brothers earlier on another site, Greg, in regards to the curriculum and Sifu's method: I notice that my tendency (I'm the worst), is to immediately begin to wonder and speculate about what 'should' or 'shouldn't' and 'if this...then that?' type stuff, making judgements about what and why and all the conjecture and insecurity about my own practice and 'correctness', etc. etc. etc. Brother Greg brought up a great point, he said that we must remember that Sifu's giving us "100 proof" internals! SIfu has extensive, inner-door training in a few of the best methods in existence, and he is one of the best within them as well (Prince and I know first-hand, trust me, haha). He's been to the mountain-top so to speak, and what he's giving us is the bare-bones, nuts and bolts of what is needed...not only what and how, but when and why, etc. etc. These lessons are specifically tailored and designed in specific sequence, for a specific developmental progression in an unusually efficient way. There's nothing left out or undone, and no 'happen-stance' or trial and error required on our parts. We literally only need to follow the lessons in the order given...and train, that's it.
Thinking and figuring not required, Sifu has already done all of that for us. It really is THE way to do this stuff, directly handed over to us gift-wrapped and ready for opening. That's not to say there won't be questions, etc., of course, keep em coming. But the best lesson to learn right off the bat is: do as Sifu Says. It's that simple, I promise. Work that over time and you'll see the results in a profound way. Good to have everyone participating.
