Training went well today at the Downtown YMCA. I was pretty wiped out by the end, though. I've been eating too much junk & fast food this week-- which is really just more junk. I want to push myself to get more green vegetables next week. I think it will help me as far as feeling more energized and less fatigued by the middle of the day.
I could only stand 15 minutes of Wuji today. My left shoulder and my right lat are doing a sort of dance when I do any standing. I've had shoulder issues for a long time. Brian worked on my left shoulder back in April. It hasn't been bothering me very much, but when I stand, I can feel everything being pulled and jerked as if my body still doesn't feel like the shoulder is in the right spot. Back in 2010, I would stand for 30 minutes, half the time in Wuji, and the other half in the embracing tree posture. After about a month of continuous standing, I felt like my shoulder was starting to fix itself. I'm wondering if lots of time spent in Wuji will naturally help me to correct some alignments?
I spent some time practicing the "clock" drill from Lesson 1 as well as working the Guang Ping form a little in my driveway. I also did three 3:00 rounds on the heavy bag to work up a good sweat. I think I'm relaxing my shoulders more when I'm hitting the bag because my shoulders did not get as sore as they do when I'm tensing a lot before & after my punches.
