Grief & Collapse

Something that’s been on my mind lately is the idea of ‘just stand’ and how it stands as the closest linguistic proxy for the opposite of collapse. One thing in particular I’ve noticed is how collapse features in our language with relation to our body.  In particular with relation to the experience of grief. To ‘collapse from grief’ is a common enough expression to at least vaguely allude to the fact that grief impacts our normal sense of bodily alignment to the point of making it ‘difficult to stand’ let alone ‘just stand.’ I recently lost a dear pet to old age, and the sense of heaviness that came over me really offset the new lightness I’ve been achieving through my practice which made me wonder if Sifu has any insights on this topic?
