Standing
In Standing I’ve noticed a tension in my left hip and that side can’t ‘tense’ up as much as the right side, so I’ve been noticing that and just taking time throughout the day to do small sections of standing to keep that noticing active and it’s begun to change - a couple of times ‘my leg has dropped down out of my left hip’ then it seems to go back to what it’s used to but it’s different.
Anchors
Introducing 'anchors' has proven to be a fascinating exploration. Initially, the suggestion of finding the 'middle of the bottom of the foot' struck me as almost comically deep ( I did laugh at the expectation), but I was actually amazed by the possibility of accessing that level of internal sensation. This deep dive through the body led to another interesting discovery about my more tense left side (by this time revealed as being from the ankle to the hip and not just hip joint). As I repeatedly practiced 'anchoring' over the last 10 or so days, consciously connecting my awareness through both sides, I noticed that my internal body sense of the left leg was less clear than the right, there is a subtle but distinct difference. The mapping seems the same but metaphorically the left leg feedback is as if through a dimmer switch.
Arm Swings
As I continue to work the Arm Swings I can feel more elasticity coming into the back of the shoulder and across the scapula. There was some elasticity there before, but in the areas that the arm swings revealed as being ‘tense’ counter intuitively it feels like there’s been ‘slack tissue’* there which I wouldn’t have expected and it feels like the slack area is being conditioned.
Shift Movement Primitive
I have only just started this and haven't much to say at this point except that it's such a clear and elegant modelling of 'shift' through 'relaxation' and of the previous 'primitives' to get to there.
I spent months in my past practice trying to work out how to initiate 'tai chi' movement by 'relax' , wish I had found this material back then.
Cavities
Getting more familiar with the pulls of the upper 5 and recognise I need to spend more time attending to the 4 lower.
