Just a quick comment on how much I am appreciating an approach that is free from limitations of any one particular style but which at the same time provides the fundamentals for success in any style.
There are pearls even in what appear to be basic conditioning practice.
For example I am just noticing how 'Scissors' would have been a really good set up prior to learning any form or weapons sets, and would have made making some movements more intuitive due to having already practiced body connection, extension and range of motion.
I remember learning sword form and how some sweeping moves that go backwards before cutting up the centre line, such as whirlinds / major literary star to name just two, would have been more easily found and made sense of. instead, my learning experience was one of doing some un-coordinated , unextended wiggle happening out there somewhere away from the body and it took many lessons and home practice sessions to actually 'see' the requirements and then train towards it.
In my past personal experience I found that it was hard to 'see' things that were far away from my ability to 'do'.
