Stage two week 13

So, when I downloaded the stage two videos I was in the middle of a lot of big life changes and stress. I thought that I had gone through all of them but I was wrong. Looking through my laptop and started up week 13. WOW!!!!! It hit on a couple of things that I have problems with.

1. I have a hard time condensing to the dan tien and not to the diaphragm just below the sternum. I think it is a habit that i developed doing lots of untrained singing and exhaling from there. The video touches on this and the warm up stretches helped me to feel this more clealy.

Two yins, two yangs, Expand to absorb/condense to project.

Condense up the legs to project up the back? Some of the things that you say during the recorded classes confuse me. Which means i wasn't clear to begin with, but i am unclear on expand to absorb condense to project.

Fajin training

What is the vibration in the fingers during fajin training? What does it mean? What qualities do we add to even it out? I felt the vibration for the first time today. I knew you mentioned it in the stage lesson, but I hadn't felt it yet. It was very apparent today.

Figuring Things Out

I've slowly been making efforts to get more consistent with my practice, and it seems that things are slowly working in my favor to have a consistent schedule.

Tired

There's a lot that I want to write, but I'm a bit exhausted. I have a new fitness project that I really want to get out quickly...but I will have to talk about it another time. Basically it's all movement--mindful movement. Bodyweight only--no kettlebells involved or any other weight.

Starting A Study Group

Starting a study group is great! Here are my thoughts. Be yourself, be sincere, be open.

The first thing as a study group leader to keep in mind is that you lead. it's best to lead by example. This means be yourself, be sincere, be neutral as much as you are able at all times. This means regular attention to the individuals under your wing. Even though you are just starting out in the ILC curriculum, your skill level has less to do with growing your group than the example you set. Your primary role is to lead, then to teach.

Armpit suction

I noticed today that when suspending the crown, i would get a suction in the armpit and my arm pulled in closer to my body automatically. Interesting.

Dang lower back

I went on a road trip this weekend and my back tightened up a lot. I can't feel a lot of the things that I've been developing lately. my back is so tied up I can't get it to release. did some training last night and I'm just getting to where I can release the lower back a little bit to be able to feel the ming men point, but it feels like a knotted up mess. Lol. train train train

Trouble sleeping

I have been having trouble sleeping. I am not having any trouble with being tired. I can fall asleep just fine, but I am waking up regularly at about 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. The trouble is getting back to sleep. Sifu tells is to keep the energy down or this could happen, however, I haven't noticed the energy coming up or any agitation. Also, everyone else in the house is cold when I'm hot. Again, I'm not getting hot during training, just comfortable at a lower temperature than everybody else. Is this just a coincidence, or is it related to my training?

Fullness while walking

Yesterday, I noticed, while walking, that, as I let go of the muscle more and more, the tissue around mingmen would release. It felt like it was moving away from mingmen in everydirection and around the torso to the front. The yin surfaces on the torsoall becamed very heavy and dense like wet wool. The belly became very full and hard with no effort. I can't reliably reproduce this effect. I can most easily find it while walking around, but it is near impossible to find it when I'm standing still or trying to train. Advice please...

Suspending the crown

Suspending the crown:I've had a few different senses of this. 1. Lifting the rear crown point giving a stretching feeling to the neck and back. (like stretching a hose)2. Releasing in such a way that fullness comes to the back which lifts the crown. (like turning on a water valve give fullness to the hose)I've opted for a combination of the two. Stretching the hose and turning the valve on. Thoughts?

Keep the energy moving

Sifu continually tells us that the energy must move. The cycle has to be continuous. I have listened to this and thought, "Ok, the energy must keep moving." But, I have realized that I don't comprehend this yet. When someone applies force to my arms, I meet the force and my abdomen becomes very full and hard. Sifu said that the fullness needs to be there but it needs to move to the mingmen. I need help understanding this. The abdominal fullness remains; even though I move to open the mingmen. Any body, every body, HELP! ;)

Punctured breath

Okay. After watching Sifu's video of the ILC forms I am convinced I do not comprehend the punctured breath. I always thought I was fuzzy on it ever since he brought it up in the stage one fajin training video. How is it done. I'm not clear on it at all.

13 Points and the 4 Stages of Relaxation

Sifu and dear brothers and sisters,

I seem to be unable to gain clarity when it comes to the relationship between the 13 points (and consequently the 5 qualities of unification) and the 4 stages of relaxation.

Perineum

I've noticed, more and more, that i have a hard time feeling any kind of expansion at my perineum. I do feel expansion at the... (cough) grain path...(cough). Any pointers on how to release more in that area?
