Why I'm an ongoing student...

I've been a sifu on demand student for four plus years. Why am I still here? Because I have actually engaged the material and see how that it is effective and leads to real skill and understanding. I don't mean to sound condescending to anyone that decides to end their time here. However, if you have completed stage one and two but you haven't engaged the ongoing training then you are truly missing out. The training only deepens and widens your sense of your body and it's mechanism.

New Class Audio Archive

For those ongoing students who want to fill their drive time with pearls of wisdom, I have enabled the raw class archives for your enjoyment and edification. :) When you login to Plex, you will see a library called 'Raw Class Audio'. The server will kindly remember where you left off so you won't miss a moment and no searching.

Strange stretching sensation

So, one of things that has frustrated me through the last couple years of my training is becoming more aware that my breath/breathing was not able to reach my perineum. Sure, the was some slight sensation but mostly I ended up with increased pressure and agitation my solar plexus. As much I can, I've been following Sifu's instructions and I've recently been aware of some new feelings. When I relax in a new way and use the relaxed belly to make room for the breath as I inhale, I feel a stretch in my back just below the kidneys.

Recent body changes

Recently, I've had a lot going on in my life which has affected my training. However, I have continued with some training, especially focusing on the breath and some form work. In spite of my down tick in training I've had some new physical, sensorial experiences. First, and a little gross, my bowel movements are faster and easier, not that they were very difficult. Second, and more interesting, I was in church and during the music part of the service I could feel something like resonant vibrations in different places inside my torso.

Moving With Relaxation

In my training I'm feeling more of a relaxation when projecting. This video demonstrates the difference in how I was cycling before, and what I feel I've progressed to. From what you can see, where would I be blocking at? I do feel like I'm cutting off project still, or maybe simply feeling my limits? Any other critiquing is appreciated as always Sifu! (Ignore intro music, thought I took it out haha.)

The Neutral Feel

Sifu, I have a question about the neutral feel. I feel like I'm getting a better understanding of it. It seems to feel empty. Like my limbs are hollowed out. But it is brief and then fades. I seem to lose that feeling. I tend to want to emphasize the yin tissue too much. But am I on the right path?

What is Spinning Hands?

Spinning hand training comes from Zhong Xin Dao (ILC), The Martial Art of Awareness. Other martial arts practice similar movements, but call their practice rolling arms or pushing hands. Spinning Hands training results in highly refined awareness and powerful concentration. Spinning hands partner practice provides a foundation for martial application resulting in natural fighting skill. Please read more from the Zhong Xin Dao (ILC) international website.
