All movement is supposed to be from release. Is fajin simply movement by release that is supported by elasticity? It is only understood through training, but is there any discussion that will benefit training and understanding?

The Light Touch or the 4 Ounce Bridge

Dear Sifu, ILC brothers and sisters,

I was wondering what your thoughts and experiences are of the coveted "light touch" or the "4 ounce bridge" in martial arts (mainly arts that are considered "soft styles" I suppose).

My personal experience is that sometimes, it is easy to "keep running away" / keep retreating into a corner when chasing this particular quality at the contact point (perhaps using inappropriate means no doubt).

Absorb

Tried doing absorb a few times today on a co worker. He said he felt like he became heavy and had to sink down. I didn't feel like i was doing anything. He also groaned a little when i applied a little force in this way. A second Co worker didn't get much out of it, but i don't think i completed the cycle. Anyone have a similar experience? I've never touched hands with any other I Liq Chuan student, so i have no reference outside of these little experiences of mine.

Pinky toe

Wow, the amount of refinement in this lesson is mind boggling. Even the simple addition of tucking the pinky toe was profound. For me it was like a puzzle piece i didn't realize was missing. The feet felt like they became complete. They almost felt like suction cups that plucked up on the top of the arch. What did everyone else get from this aspect?

Tai Chi form feels disconnected

I do the Tai Chi 24 form. Since doing this program i can't do the form with the same shapes because it feels very disconnected. My form looks bad but it is starting to feel better. Why does it feel soo disconnected?

Review, Review, Review!

I encourage every student to go back a review each lesson many times over. I have been doing this with the stage one videos and i am so surprised by how much i didn't see or hear the first time around out the third or forth time around. There is so much depth that its nearly like starting over again. Thanks again Sifu for this curriculum.

Stage 1 week 4 question

Just wasn't sure why the week 4 video was slowed down a lot, I can't make out anything that is being said. Or is the purpose just to observe the movements?

Introduction and first blog entry!

Hi everyone, I wanted to introduce myself here and say what an absolute pleasure it is to be here and have legitimate teaching and methods without having to travel. I plan to extensively train all of this material and hopefully one day instruct students of my own. I was absolutely stunned with the amount of humility of the instructor and from the students blog posts. I really feel like this place could very well be my home. It's awesome being here. 

Sore throat after breath work

For some reason the back of my throat feels as if I have been shouting a lot after doing breath work. I am not breathing hard, heavy or deep, but I am amazed at how much tension I feel when I am trying to breathe.

How Do I Choose A Teacher?

Ask yourself one question: "When all is practiced and perfected, will I want to move like this teacher?"

Stamina training

Dear Sifu, I have a question:

Is it good for the health to jog (for example 2 times the week) ?

I ask because when I train ilc the pulse is not to high. Need the body from time to time a higher pulse (130 bits, 30-60 minutes) to train the bloodstream.

Or is it bad because the body lost energy?

What is your opinion?
