A Note on the Guard Rails of Training

This isn't about one instance, but about the forum.

I recently posted about Stillness and the current lack thereof, although experiencing it fleetingly, currently it was not there.

The answers I got in class last night were transformative, and Sifu always says he will not waste our time.  However, giving such clarity to avoid a many months or even years side mission, actually gives you time.  For that gift of time, and the sincere direction of how to observe your own training through an accurate lense, I am deeply grateful.

Stillness... I really don't know what it is...

I've been working on being "still" during standing... as Sifu has been ending class with some minutes of stillness...

I realized that I do not know what stillness is... is it continually holding the 10 points and allowing the softness to keep me growing? is it just maintaining that place based on the 10 points and keeping the softness from making me taller?

I guess I am experiencing the observation that stillness is not what I thought, and I know that if I just keep training, my observations will keep changing.

Lighter Yi and the U.

As standing progresses,

The Lighter the Yi I use, the stronger the front of the U upholds me in verticality, and as I stand there lightly as if a wind would blow me over, its like being held up in place in the front and the back, but all the while never losing the anchored feeling.

Im also noticing that with the lighter the yi, and the stronger the front of the U, this allows the arms to hang more extremely in the opposite direction.
