Slow Progress
Submitted by princenasir on 2011-07-18 21:11I'm nearing the end of a 9-month program to get my personal trainer's certification which means I'm getting slammed with deadlines. I am still working on relaxing while doing wuji standing and have not yet moved on to Bitter Pill. Friday night I stood for 13 minute intervals for a total of 42 minutes. My focus was really to get the weight out of my knees and into my ankles. I did the same thing last night (Sunday) for 15 minutes as well as during the Yiquan standing in my Taiji class this morning.
Different
Submitted by iambillions on 2011-07-17 20:58Hello everyone,
Just wanted to mention that i really appreciate how these lessons are aimed at creating specific feelings. That these methods are authenticated as a feeling one wants in Taiji or other internal art, instead of a one off experience that happens during training, is really refreshing. i am happy to be here.
i have asked around about the idea of the whole body being light and agile and at the same time whole body being sunk.
really cool to have a simple method of attaining this quality!!!
thank you for sharing Kelley,
brian

fifty-fifty stance
Submitted by pjmca on 2011-07-17 03:20I train for short periods with the following methodology. I watch each lesson and pick a particular teaching and drill. For example I learn a particular movement trying building it from previous acquired understanding. I go back frequently to previous lessons. Sometimes I feel that the correct feeling is achieved for very short periods.

The Story of The 8 Brothers
Submitted by imklg on 2011-07-11 18:49This story was told by Master Sam Chin at the 2006 I Liq Chuan Intensive retreat in NY (I recall it fairly well, let me know if I've missed something):
There are 8 brothers working together to run a store.

First Lesson: How To Begin
Submitted by princenasir on 2011-07-10 18:21I answered the following to one of the questions that Sifu Kelly asked in the beginning of the lesson:
I have always understand excess Yin leading to Yang and excess Yang leading to Yin with the neutral point being a transition from one to the other. I think that it is necessary to learn to feel what Yang is and what Yin is in order to become aware of that neutral point is where one transitions to the other.
Welcome new students! Week 1 and week 2 now available.
